Evelyn Glore Ashford celebrated her 96th birthday with family and friends on August 19, 2011 at a party hosted in her honor. Evelyn, an elementary school teacher in Kirkwood for over 30 years, now resides with her son Gregory (her caregiver) in Kansas City. She is a member of St. James United Methodist Church where Gregory is an usher.
