St. Louis Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

The St. Louis Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. recently held their Founders Day Luncheon at the St. Louis Renaissance Grand Hotel in St. Louis.

Juana Love was luncheon chairperson and mistress of ceremony. Chapter President Mitchelle Price welcomed the 500 guests who included friends, family members, representatives fromĀ  local Delta chapters and the Central Regional Director Billie F. Coachman. The luncheon theme was ā€œSisters Learning from Our Past, Growing in Our Present and Looking Forward To Our Future.ā€

The Occasion/Founders Tribute enacted the 22 young women who founded the organization. It was narrated by Quintella Ivory and Phyllis Russell-Smith, second and first vice presidents, respectively.Ā 

Rita Logan, Founders Day co-chairperson, gave Membership Recognition to 25-, 40-, 50- and 60-year members. Hortense Watkins was honored for 70 years of service. Patricia Stewart, Founders Day co-chairperson, recognized new “Delta Dears,” those who have recently become senior members of the sorority.

The organization’s chaplain Dr. Doris Graham, gave the invocation. Frankie Muse Freeman, Esq., 14th national president of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., introduced the keynote speaker, Mrs. Beverly E. Smith, national first vice president of Delta. Smith spoke of grievous and difficult conditions in the past and the continuing need for commitment and dedication to make the future brighter. Ā  Ā
