The sixth annual Ferguson Twilight Run will be held Saturday, May 16 in downtown Ferguson, and it’s the only evening race in North St. Louis County. Pre-race festivities start at 4:30 p.m. The one-mile run is at 5:00 p.m., the 5K starts at 5:45 p.m. and the 10K begins at 6:15 p.m.
Before the race begins, live music entertainment greets participants as they head toward the start line at Plaza at 501. A drum circle will take the lead for pre-race festivities. A free concert with the Dirty Muggs continues into the evening.
The Ferguson Twilight Run donates proceeds to community organizations that represent healthy, sustainable aspects of fitness activities. The 2015 beneficiaries are Emerson Family YMCA, Girls on the Run at Bermuda Elementary, Ferguson Youth Initiative’s Earn-a-Bike Program, Marygrove, St. Vincent Home for Children and Friends of Ferguson Disc Golf.
Race fees for the 5K and 10K events are $25; on May 16, the fee increases to $30. The One-Mile Fun Run is $10. Teams of 10 or more get $2 off each person’s entry fee. Registration includes a performance shirt and a medal for 5K and 10K race finishers. One-mile registration includes a cotton shirt. Participation is capped at 2,500.
