Filing opened for the Normandy School District Board of Education election on Tuesday, Dec. 14 at the Campus Support Center (Board of Education), 3855 Lucas and Hunt Rd. The district will be closed for winter break Monday, Dec. 20 through Friday, Dec. 31. Filing will resume on Monday, Jan. 3 and continue through Tuesday, Jan. 18. Filings will be accepted during normal business hours of 7:30 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. The hours of filing will be extended one half-hour on the closing date of Jan. 18 to 5 p.m.
Each candidate must provide a written letter of declaration of candidacy. Missouri law requires a person to be a United States citizen, at least 24 years of age, a resident taxpayer of the district and have resided in the state of Missouri for one year immediately preceding the election. Candidates will be listed on the ballot by the order in which they filed.
