On Monday Freedom Inc. endorsed Robin Carnahan and her candidacy for the U.S. Senate.

Freedom Inc. is the historic black political voice of Kansas City. Carnahan, currently in her second term as Missouri Secretary of State, is running for U.S. Senate as Democrat.

Congressman Roy Blunt is her Republican opponent.

“Robin recognizes the needs of our urban community. She will fight to bring jobs, improve education and make our communities safer,” said Craig Bland, president of Freedom Inc.

“We know she will be an independent voice and fight in the U.S. Senate to represent the needs of Kansas City and Missouri.”

Freedom Inc. cited Carnahan’s record as Missouri Secretary of State, highlighting her record of returning over $10 billion to consumers and saving small businesses nearly $12 million.

Carnahan said it was “an honor to have the support of long-standing civic leaders like Freedom Inc.”
