Gateway Connections will present its Fall 2010 session from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Friday, October 15 at United Way of Greater St. Louis, 910 North 11th St. The attire is Business Casual.
The program is designed to assist professionals of color and their spouses or guests who have relocated to St. Louis in making a smooth, knowledgeable transition to living in the region.
This half-day session has been designed to give participants an opportunity to meet key business and community leaders and to receive an extensive overview of the area’s history, economics, structures, cultural affairs and leisure amenities.
One of the program objectives is to allow participants to become acquainted with the formal and informal power structures of the area. In addition, the participants meet other professionals who have relocated to the area.
“Not only was the information beneficial but the networking was remarkable,” Shendorah Nalls, manufacturing engineer at Boeing, said of the program.
“People, including myself, walked away with a greater understanding of this new place we all call home. It was great to be in a room full of people of color that are making moves, doing big things, and who are willing to give back to the community.”
Gateway Connections was launched in June 2004 in an effort to retain professionals of color in the St. Louis region,
You must RSVP for the Oct. 15 event by Friday, Oct. 8. For further information, please call 314.444.1121 or email diversity@stlrcga.org.
