Jack Hays, a fourth grade student at Mary Institute Country Day School presented 11 Kindles to the students at City Academy during an assembly held at the Academy on Friday, October 8. A resident of Clayton, Hays launched The Kindle Project after discovering during a visit to the school that the library had no Kindles. He raised nearly $2,000 by soliciting donations from friends and family, washing cars, setting up lemonade stands and even establishing a blog. City Academy was founded in 1999 with a commitment to make private education accessible to families regardless of income.
