Teenage girls between the ages of 13-17 living or attending school in Missouri and young women between the ages of 18 and 27 residing, working fulltime, or attending school fulltime in Missouri are encouraged to compete for scholarships, awards and prizes in the 2011 Miss Black Missouri USA and Miss Black Missouri USA Talented Teen Scholarship Pageants to be held in downtown St. Louis October 22-24 at the Drury Plaza Hotel at the Arch.
A swim suit category is not part of the competitions, as contestants will be competing based on their values, talent, intellect, health and ambitions. The pageants are not beauty pageants.
The Miss Black Missouri USA and Miss Black Missouri USA Talented Teen Scholarship Pageants are programs of Like a Girl, a project of Congressional District Programs, Inc., a registered 501 (c)3 public charity. It is the mission of Like a Girl is to empower, inspire, encourage, and support young girls and women to excel academically, socially, professionally and personally.
