YWCA Metro St. Louis is running YWCA Camp Derricotte, a summer day-camp for boys and girls between the ages of 5-12, from June 7 through July 30.
The camp offers arts and crafts, field trips, and recreational activities such as playing games and swimming. Each week will offer a new theme, such as “Where the Wild Things Are,” “Unsolved Mysteries,” “The Numbers Game,” and “Respect.” All children will receive age-appropriate lessons on racial justice, a mission area of YWCA.
The camp is offered at three locations (Jackson Park Elementary School, 7400 Balson Ave.; YWCA St. Louis Head Start, 4632 West Florissant; St. Frances Cabrini Academy, 3022 Oregon), with most locations operating from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The camp fee is $110 per week for each child, with discounts for additional siblings; partial scholarships are available. The camps welcome qualifying families through the Department of Health and Social Services.
A camp brochure, registration forms and scholarship information are available at www.ywcastlouis.org, or call 314-7257203.
