Annie Malone Children and Family Service Center is seeking entries to participate in the 117th Annual Annual May Day Parade. Applications can be picked up at the agency, located at 2612 Annie Malone Drive, or interested parties can request them by calling 531-0120.

The deadline for personal checks is May 6 and business checks May 9. In person registration will take place until May 12, with cash and money orders only. Full payment must accompany application. The entry fees to participate in the May Day Parade vary, and proceeds will benefit the Annie Malone Children and Family Service Center.

Dump and Diesel Trucks: $275

Decorated Automobiles and Floats: $225

Motorcycle: $75

Horse (each): $50

Marching Units (School Bands): No Charge

Multi-cultural Performing Groups: $50

Please note that once the parade line-up has been assigned, on a first-come basis, no refunds will be given.

In order for automobiles and floats to be judged for prizes, they must be decorated consistent with the theme, “Preserving Our History Serving Children and Families While Embracing Our Future.”

The May Day Parade will begin at 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 15. The parade route starts at Union and Natural Bridge and proceeds east on Natural Bridge to Fairground Park.

So come out and support the largest parade in the state of Missouri and the second-largest African-American parade in the U.S.
