Caregivers will be uplifted, educated, entertained and motivated at this year’s Joanne Parrish Knight Caregiving Conference, Thurs., April 6, 6-9 p.m. at the Frontenac Hilton Hotel. The theme of the conference is “Lighting the Way with Memorable Moments in Caregiving.” Featured speakers include mother-daughter team Mary Lee Sharp and Rachel LeeAnn Kail, founders of The Edcon Group. The duo will present concepts about dementia and caregiving. Other portions of their presentation will cover ways to reduce stress for caregivers and the impact of dementia on family relationships.
Following the feature presentation, Dr. David Carr, clinical director, Division of Geriatrics and Nutritional Science at Washington University School of Medicine will provide a medical update regarding developments in Alzheimer’s disease. Carr also is a clinician in the school’s Memory Diagnostic Center and is the geriatric fellowship director and coordinator for the Internal Medicine Residency Geriatric rotation.
