St. Louis ArtWorks is proud to announce their tenth season of providing employment in the arts for St. Louis teens and local artists.

Beginning June 20, more than 100 youth and eighteen master artists from six

top arts teaching organizations will participate in this unique six-week

program. Young adults ages 14-21 will work in eight different artistic disciplines to complete seven public art commissions. ArtWorks has added a second location to its program this year; returning to Adams Elementary School in Forest Park Southeast and a new studio site at Vashon High School.

In addition to building their portfolio, teen apprentices receive training

in various employment skills such as financial problem solving, interviewing

techniques, resume writing and entrepreneurial skills.

On July 8, ArtWorks will host an open house and invites the community to tour its two studios at Adams Elementary from 10:30-noon and at Vashon from 1:30-3 p.m. On July 28, ArtWorks will host an art sale.

Visitors can choose from photographs, drawings, journals, paintings,

collages, sculptures and other unique items created by program participants.
