Every Monday, from noon to 1 p.m., Food Outreach hosts a lunch program at its facility at 3117 Olive Street. The agency is the only AIDS service organization in the St. Louis community offering a weekly hot lunch program open to anyone who is living with HIV/AIDS.

Food Outreach’s collaborates with guest chefs from area restaurants to occasionally assist in preparing meals for this program. Some of the guest chefs who have stepped up to the plate are Jimmy Voss of Duff’s Restaurant, Stefan Jarausch of the Chase Park Plaza, Vickie Newton of News Channel 4, and Tina Kaelin and Carole Giffar of King Louie’s.

Volunteers assist in the preparation of the lunches and serve the meals to the agency’s clients restaurant style, using real china and linens. This is in keeping with the agency’s commitment to treat its clients with dignity and respect.

Local churches can sponsor a Monday Hot Lunch at Food Outreach for $200. The group will proudly acknowledge your congregation in its newsletter that reaches over 11,000 homes, and your church name will be posted on the menu as our sponsor the day of the luncheon. Most importantly, you will have the opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of men, women and children who are living with HIV/AIDS in the St. Louis community.

To sign up or for more information, contact Sheila Grigsby at 612-5877 or Billie Reise at Food Outreach 652-3663 ext. 21.
