HUD Secretary Alphonso Jackson will provide the commencement address at Harris-Stowe State University’s convocation at Powell Symphony Hall May 8. Jackson joined the Bush administration in June 2001 as HUD’s deputy secretary and managed the day-to-day operations of the $32 billion agency. In 2004 he became the nation’s 13th Secretary of HUD where he guides the department’s mission of providing affordable housing and promoting economic development.
