The United Way of Greater St. Louis and the East St. Louis Board of Education School District 189 will host the Power of Partnerships Ministers’ Forum April 28 at 12 p.m. at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows, Visitors Center located at 442 S. DeMazenod Dr. Belleville, IL.
The sponsoring organizations are inviting over 100 ministers to attend the Power of Partnerships Ministers Forum the purpose of which is to start a city-wide strategic plan for effective educational programs within all East St. Louis schools. Ministers will be effective in helping to implement educational programs within the schools and will be asked to help identify ways in which their existing church educational programs and congregational resources can help provide structured alternatives for youth and their families. The overall goal is to help ministers partner with local schools and create sustainable programs that address the social, psychological and emotional needs of students and their families.
The United Way of Greater St. Louis Initiatives Division has agreed to assist with the strategic planning process and will continue to provide staff support by identifying unmet needs and developing partnerships and alliances to improve the quality of health and human services within the city of East St. Louis.
