Openings available for 2005-2006 school year

Registration is currently underway for the Fall 2005-06 YWCA School Age Care before-/after-school program. The program, which caters to children ages 5-12 in the University City and Normandy school districts, provides an educational, fun, interactive environment for children, along with a safe out-of-school haven.

Each day, the children enjoy a combination of specially designed activities that are both fun and educational. The children also have an opportunity to work on homework, with guidance from staff. Plus, an afternoon snack is provided daily.

In University City, the YWCA School Age Care sites are: Barbara C. Jordan Elementary, Delmar Harvard Elementary, Flynn Park Elementary, Jackson Park Elementary and Nathanial Hawthorne Elementary.

In the Normandy district, the sites are: Bel-Nor Elementary, Bel-Ridge, and the Kindergarten Center, although transportation is not provided to the latter.

Cost of the School Age Care program varies, depending the family’s care need and financial situation, from $15-$60 weekly.

School Age Care is affiliated with the Department of Family Services to help income-eligible families receive quality child care, provides a multiple-child discount and also offers a limited number of scholarships.
