The Science Center recently hosted eighth grade students from Compton Drew Investigative Learning Center Middle School displayed presentations on energy issues that affect everyday life. The students were part of Missouri Schools Going Solar, an energy education project coordinated by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources’ Energy Center and sponsored by AmerenUE. Through this program, MSGS awarded grants for the installation of photovoltaic solar systems to 15 K-12 schools that are AmerenUE electric customers. Missouri Botanical Garden’s EarthWays Center delivers the education components of MSGS. The program educates students, teachers and communities about energy efficiency and renewable energy options and technology.
