Scholarships are being awarded to ten students in the June graduating class of Charles Sumner High School. These scholarships are from the “Classes of 1955 – Daniel Williams Memorial Fund.”
The recipients, who will enroll in various four-year institutions, are Lawrence Blakemore, Anissa Brown, Dominique Coburn, Justin Collins, Brittany Fields, Nykitta Henson, Ashley Russell, Andrew Sutherland, Inekka Whitted and Evan Wormley.
The awards were announced at the senior Awards Day at Sumner by scholarship committee members Queen Frazier, Calvert Worth, and Dannie Franklin. The students will receive their awards and be presented to the Classes of 1955 at their Reunion on June 17 at the Airport Marriott.
