Bates-Toliver Community Learning Center and Boys and Girls Club has joined a national effort to establish National Kids Day as an “official day” on our nation’s calendar. The effort is backed by research showing that millions of Americans recognize the link between spending meaningful time with their kids and the tough issues facing youth, but say they don’t have the time, skills, or resources to do as much for their children as they feel they should.
On August 7, thousands of parents and kids will gather at Duchesne Park in Florissant for a full day of family activities. The event runs from noon to 6 p.m.
National Kid’s Day supporters include Boys & Girls Clubs of America and KidsPeace, with support from Blockbuster, The Home Depot, Major League Baseball, Cartoon Network, the Association for Library Services to Children, the American Zoo and Aquarium Association and The Mills Corporation.
