The opinion of the Political Eye with regard to Congressman Clay being way out of bounds by suggesting certain actions be taken by SLPS Board of Education omitted stating that everyone in our community opines often on matters that fall within the control of the school board.

The congressman was in the forefront for standing up for the education of our children on all levels and everywhere in the state during his service on the House Education Committee in Jefferson City for about 15 years. Furthermore, the desegregation money the congressman negotiated to protect the quality of our schools is the only sure money for this district, and a lot of people are fighting to get that money.

The congressman has earned the right to opine to the St. Louis Board of Education on matters of concern.
