It is apparent that Veronica O’Brien, president of the school board, and some of her board members do not have the welfare of the children of St. Louis at heart. In Williams and Floyd Irons you have two strong, positive, black men. Both are excellent role models to every student, especially the black boys, and you turn around and hire a white woman to step into the key role of superintendent. There is a conspiracy to destroy black boys, and this is one way to do it.
I suggest that every school board member go back to the drawing board and assess what their purpose is. It is hard for the parents and students to believe in you now. They can’t trust you. As board members, you have failed every student in the city of St. Louis.
Parents, you can make a difference. Organize politically. Form your own political base to elect school board members. We did it in Normandy. You can do it in the city.
