All too often, we find ourselves in the company of young black men and women or boys and girls who use inappropriate language. I applaud Carol Daniel because she addressed the situation in Wal-Mart. Many of us shy away from correcting them because we fear a confrontation. I felt very encouraged by Carol’s experience.

The day and age of encountering young, respectable, debutante-like black women has passed almost completely. Instead, we are faced with a generation of angry, ill-mannered, rude and foul-mouthed women. However, if we can help someone to realize what true dignity and respect are, just maybe they will in turn pass that knowledge on to someone else.
