Claire’s rambling letter about voting rights is an emotional appeal in an effort to enrage the African-American community to come to the polls in November. This reactionary tactic has been in every general election by the candidate’s party.

The candidate’s party’s appeal to the African-American community is usually limited to minimum wage, affordable housing, welfare and the current fashionable civil rights or poverty issue. African Americans are represented at virtually every level in our economic and social structure. African-American voters want to hear the candidate’s positions on good-paying jobs, home ownership, quality education, small business development and a safe, secure life.

I am hard-pressed to identify one stance that McCaskill has taken in her 25 years of public service to champion for the African-American community. What is your record?
