I recently rented the digitally remastered version of the movie Malcolm X, starring Denzel Washington. As always, it moved me to tears, not just for what happened then but for what is happening now.
After reading Jesse Jackson’s column “A budget to crush the poor” in last week’s American, I thought to myself how we need another Civil Rights Movement such as we had in Malcolm’s time. All races got involved in the sixties, and as a result some revolutionary changes were made.
I hope those of us who were involved in the Civil Rights Movement of the sixties will teach the younger generation how important it was and, moreover, how badly we all need to get involved today.
Bush has waged on everyone that is not rich. It’s time to fight back.
I am personally involved with the A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition. At HYPERLINK “http://www.answercoalition.org”www.answercoalition.org you will find dates and times of a national anti-war/anti-Bush protest scheduled all across the country and around the world on March 19. Jamie Kelly St. Louis
