The article about Arab business owners in black communities made me cringe. Not because I am afraid of the beauty supply store owner. I cringed at the amount of racism displayed in the article. The generalizations that liquor store owners are Islamic and that Islamic people don’t live in highly African-American communities are ignorant of demographics. Most small business owners do live near their businesses and do have interest in the community thriving. It’s not a big conspiracy from one person of color to another. The conspiracy exists only to play one minority group against the other.
