Many of us are concerned about the overt failure of the City of Edwardsville School Board to require any of the building contractors they hire to work on publicly financed projects to include African-American workers. We know this continued racial exclusion will ultimately lead to the kind of racial tension and hostility that are common in other communities.

Unfortunately, our “designated” black leaders are willing to “not notice” racism for the purpose of selling banquet and scholarship tickets. How many black people can buy homes, buy food or clothes for their children from hustling tickets or begging for nickel and dime contributions?
