Had Tookie Williams been tried today, the crime would not only be for a coldblooded murder of four innocent people, it would also be a hate crime because three of the people (all one family) were Asian.

God has given the state the sword to wield justice (Romans 13:4). It is also unfortunate that there is a continued thought that blacks can’t get justice in this country. More blacks suffer and die from other blacks. Why should society be shackled with the cost of taking care of those who commit heinous crimes against others?

Tookie Williams’ punishment wasn’t for creating a violent gang, but for extinguishing the innocent lives of four people who didn’t deserve his senseless, cold, calculating cruelty. Take race out of the equation, and perhaps the colorblind will see the criminal and the crimes.
