I want thank you for this amazing “Athlete of the Week” article on Dana Guthrie! I’ve noticed in other local papers if you’re not 6 feet tall, you don’t get much publicity, and I don’t think that’s fair to the kids. I’m very happy to see that someone gives honor to talent no matter what size the player is.
Everyone wrote this team off once the top player was lost to an injury and Dana Guthrie hustled and stepped up her game trying to carry her team to a district championship. She promised that her team would win districts, and they did! Do you think there was a big article about this? NOT! This article made Dana feel really good in knowing that all her hard work is not in vain.
