Thank you for that stirring essay about the Kirkwood tragedy by Alvin A. Reid. It makes me feel proud. It is also heartbreaking. And it makes me feel very sorry about a lot of things.
As a white, middle-class, American woman, I know I will never really understand what many people have lived through in our wonderful country. But I keep trying.
I have always enjoyed Alvin’s appearances on Channel 9 and hope to see him more often. I am very thankful that this story was mentioned on Donnybrook. My very kindest wishes to Alvin and his family and your newspaper for continued success.
