Loud music in public is obnoxious, inconsiderate and dangerous. I like loud music, too, but that doesn’t give me the right to turn my stereo up to excruciating levels outside the privacy of my own home. It seems to me that the father and son quoted in the article are taking a sociopathic view on this issue – just because THEY enjoy doing something doesn’t mean that a law that prevents such an activity is unfair or racially biased. As a city resident, I greatly appreciate the proposal and hope that other communities adapt similar ordinances. Loud music is a blight in most neighborhoods I’ve ever lived in, and has little to do with race or culture.
