It seems the stupidity continues regarding the proposed “upgrades” to Interstate 64. Are all the administrators and appointed officials at the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDot) on the take, or just incompetent? I live right behind I-64/Highway 40 and had the opportunity to see the plan MoDot has on the table almost 6 1/2 years ago. I thought it was a stupid idea then. It’s a given, congestion and pollution increase about 15 minutes after more lanes are added to highways.
The typical short-sightedness of East/West Gateway and MoDot is about to be crammed down our throats again. The fact MoDots plans to add lanes to Interstate 64 and not Metro Link access is a travesty! Remember, this is the agency that designed and oversaw construction of the Hwy-40/I-170 interchange – WITHOUT a northbound entrance ramp from eastbound 40!
Do any of the legislators and the people working on this at MoDot have any sense? Do they have any of intention of saving the taxpayer a dime?
It’s not too late! Not one spec of ground has been disturbed, no home demolished. If we all make some noise, maybe we can get someone to listen.
