I want to share my love and respect for Mrs. Rosa Parks, a champion of humanity.
As a naturalized citizen, I came to know Mrs. Parks 10 years ago by reading her brave city bus story in Montgomery, Alabama. I wrote an article to introduce her to the Chinese-American community in St. Louis. She helped me to see what is black and white, peace and violence, justice and injustice, equality and inequality and minority and majority.
Her story led me to Dr. Martin Luther King and his dream speech and to further reading on the strange career of Jim Crow.
She shows the Tao of power within all of us, the weak over strong, peace over violence and love over hate.
She is a role model of courage, enduring and revolution. I will work with my brothers and sisters to make America, our homeland, the heaven of peace, harmony, justice and equality.
Mrs. Rosa Park, rest in peace.
