From 2001 ’til 2004, I played guitar with John Norment at Yemanja Brasil, Two Brothers Smooth Jazz Lounge, Smith & Slay’s, Brandt’s, Lynch Street Bistro, Jaboni’s, The Famous (martini) Bar, The Rose of the Hill. He was the juxtoposition of Illinois Jaquet and Pharoah Sanders at the intersection of wail and jive. He was alway in tune, he was always ready to play, he was always on time, he was always a thrill to work with, and he was always great to hear. And listening to him talk always set my mind at ease. We’ll miss him.
