Your editorial cartoon of Feb. 10 that depicts Israel’s leader Sharon as taking advantage of a tiny and weak Palestinian leader Abbas is totally malicious and misleading. I expect better from your fine editorial staff.If your artist had checked his facts, he would know Israel is giving back control of the West Bank. Israel is not taking anything away, as the cartoon depicts.
Later this year, Sharon plans to remove Israeli settlements and return the entire Gaza to Palestinian control. Emphatically, this major withdrawal shows good will by towards the peace process. May good intentions on both sides lead toward a lasting peace between these two noble people.
