According to KMOV.com, a Cahokia High School teacher’s aide and coach is being accused of knowingly transmitting HIV through inappropriate contact with a male student.
The criminal complaint says, Mario Hunt, 35, has been charged with criminal sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual abuse and criminal transmission of HIV.
Hunt allegedly abused a 17-year-old male student between the dates of January 1, 2011 and June 21, 2011.
According to the school superintendent, Hunt was suspended from the school on Wednesday once they were notified by police of the allegations. He was placed on leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
In addition to working as an aide, the superintendent said Hunt worked with the school’s athletic programs in a training capacity.
