Two women were rescued after a vehicle drove through a United States Post Office in north St. Louis County late Monday morning.

Police told KMOV.com the wreck happened at the post office in the 9810 block of Halls Ferry Rd. around 11:40 a.m.

Authorities said a woman checking her mail inside the building got pinned underneath the vehicle and the driver of the car was trapped.

They were both eventually rescued and transported to the hospital in unknown condition.

The cause of the wreck was unclear.
