A five-year-old girl is dead and her 14-year-old brother is in critical condition after being struck by a sports utility vehicle and then a Metro Bus.
According to police the children were riding a bike in the street, when an SUV struck them sending them airborne into the path of a Metro bus.
It happened in north St. Louis at the corner of Sarah and Kennerly around 5:20 p.m. on Monday.
Both of the children were on one bike. Gregory Womack, 14, was peddling while his sister, Cheramara Montley, 5, was standing on the rear-wheel pegs.
The SUV’s impact sent both children flying into the path of a Metro bus going the opposite direction.
Both children were struck by the Metro bus. Womack was pinned under the bus and Montley was left in the street. Womack is hospitalized in critical condition.
No one else from the accident was injured.
