The racial friction between the predominantly white St. Louis Police Officers Association and the all black Ethical Society of Police has again been exposed through blog comments on police websites.
Eddie Simmons, president of the Ethical Society of Police told FOX2’s Charles Jaco, “I’ve had white officers come out and use the “N” word, ‘I’m sick of riding with that n——, I’m not gonna’ ride with him anymore.’ And there’s a guy I had no idea he’d say anything like that. But that’s what I have to deal with.” Even if cops are not responsible for the message boards, Simmons believes there are some racist white officers patrolling black neighborhoods. “The person that’s calling the police, they don’t have a fair chance. When that officer comes that don’t like black folks, when he comes, he’s got a mindset already.”
Police Chief Joe Mokwa said the racist postings “hurt community relations and I’ve had members of the community, black and white, who ask me, for example, why I allow that website
