The St. Louis College of Pharmacy Alumni Association has selected Misty Collier Farr, PharmD, as the 2016 Black Heritage Distinguished Alumni Award recipient.
She is a 2010 graduate of the college and the pharmacy manager at the Florissant Walmart located at 3390 N. Hwy 67. She and her family reside in the Florissant area.
The Black Heritage Distinguished Alumni Award is a celebration by the Alumni Association in recognition of leaders in the African-American community for their scholarly works and commitment to improve cultural competencies and eliminate health disparities in the community. Winners of the college’s Distinguished Alumni Award have contributed to society throughout their lives. They are recognized for their contributions to their communities, the college and the profession of pharmacy.
Farr is a member of St. Nicholas’ Roman Catholic Church, the American Pharmacist Association, Minority Women Pharmacist Association, the Knights of Peter Claver Ladies’ Auxiliary, the Knights of Columbus Ladies’ Auxiliary, and the League of Black Women.
She will receive the Award at the annual St. Louis College of Pharmacy Black History Month Celebration, “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner,” on Saturday, February 20, from 5-8 p.m. at the Moto Museum, 3441 Olive Blvd. in St. Louis. The cost is $15. She will be honored again, in November, at the college’s annual gala.
