FBI and IRS agents are on the scene of three lots connected to the towing company at the center of a scandal involving former St. Louis Police chief Joe Mokwa’s daughter.
Two of the lots belong to St. Louis Metropolitan Towing lots, one at 10 th Street the other on Cass. The other lot is Mojo’s Towing in Kirkwood.
A sealed affidavit means that agents would not give out more information regarding what led to the raids, but federal investigators are trying to find out if anything illegal transpired.
Joe Mokwa retired last month as chief amidst allegations that his daughter, Aimie Mokwa received cars from the towing company.
The FBI posted a survey on its website asking for information from anyone whose vehicles were towed by St. Louis Metropolitan Towing or its affiliated companies, S&H Parking or Parks Auto Sales, in the past five years. The survey can be found at the following address: http://stlouis.fbi.gov/publiccorruptionsurvey.htm.
The FBI is also asking anyone who had their vehicle towed by either of these companies in the last five years to contact them at 1-800-CALL-FBI.
