FBI agents are involved in an investigation at the village hall in Washington Park, IL.
Federal agents Wednesday afternoon were seen walking out of the hall with close to 60 boxes containing city records and other documents.
The raid led by the FBI reportedly caught the village mayor totally by surprise.
The FBI is refusing to say just what it is they are looking for or what they suspect.
According to reports, the investigation seems to be centered on missing money, possibly hundreds of thousands of dollars and possibly involving a former village employee.
During the several hours federal agents collected the records they wanted, the village hall was forced to turn away some residents from entering.
