After a bout of freezing rain hit the St. Louis area, numerous accidents are being reported in Missouri and Illinois. The worst conditions are being reported in the Metro-East.
Even though the freezing rain has stopped, the glazing of ice on the roads has not melted yet because roadway and air temperatures are still below freezing.
Drivers are cautioned to take their time during the morning commute and allow themselves ample time to reach their destinations because of major highway delays.
