A second round of budget reductions is going to cut deeply into Missouri education programs, following Governor Jay Nixon’s announcement of $301 million in budget cuts.

The budget cuts begin July 1. This is in addition to previous budget cuts, which add up to about $600 million total.

State funding for public school bus transportation will be cut by $70 million. College scholarships will lose $50 million. Mental health services will be cut and 250 state employee positions will be gone.
