One student was shot Thursday night in a McCluer North High School parking lot following a basketball game between the Stars and archrival Hazelwood Central Hawks.
The Hazelwood School District student was shot in the hand and possibly the leg around 8 p.m. He was taken to a local hospital.
His condition was not immediately known, though Florissant Police Lt. Ron Vaughn said the student’s injuries are not life-threatening.
Vaughn said as police were aiding the injured student, the suspect took off on foot and may have gotten into a car.
It wasn’t immediately known what prompted the shooting.
