(St. Louis Public Radio) – JEFFERSON CITY — Andrea Terhune, president of the joint executive governing board for the Normandy schools, has resigned for personal reasons from the board effective July 6, announced Missouri’s commissioner of education. Margie Vandeven made the announcement during a discussion at a meeting of the state board of education about the progress the Normandy Schools Collaborative has made in the past year.
Terhune became president of the board earlier this year when Charles Pearson, who had ben president, became interim superintendent in Normandy. He has since been named to the job permanently.
Later Tuesday, Vandeven was set to announce a nominee to take Pearson’s spot on the board. Now, she says, she will be searching for someone to replace Terhune as well. In the meantime, board vice president Richard Ryffel will lead the board, Vandeven said.
