Overnight, a Heat Advisory was issued for the St. Louis area. St. Charles and St. Louis counties and the City of St. Louis in Missouri and Madison and St. Clair counties in Illinois from 12 p.m. Tuesday through 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31.
The National Weather Service says a dome of high pressure will keep the area in the upper 90s with the heat index each day exceeding 100 degrees. This increases the risk for heat-related illnesses.
