Henry Williams, 65, the superintendent of the Riverview Gardens School District, has now been formally indicted for stealing more than $100,000 from the district. He arrived at Riverview Gardens in 2002. He had previously been the superintendent of the Kansas City school district, but left there amid financial questions.

In the past year, more than 100 employees have left the Riverview Gardens School District. Many said the district had gone downhill in the past few years, and that it was a result of management.

Williams was suspended earlier this year after a state audit found a pattern of misappropriated money. District officials say they have started the process of firing Williams.

He has already publicly denied the allegations of two counts of felony theft and three counts of evading Missouri income taxes. Williams is free on a $50,000 bond.
