According to St. Louis police, a highway crash north of downtown early this morning left a man dead.
The accident happened on Interstate 70 at Cass Avenue at 1:25 a.m., police say. The name of the victim is being withheld until his family can be notified.
According to KTVI-TV, the victim was driving westbound when his car struck a retaining wall.
The driver was ejected into the eastbound lanes and struck by a tractor-trailer, the station says. The truck driver was uninjured, the station reports.
