On February 5, 2008, Missourians will join nearly two dozen states, on what is known as “Super Tuesday,” to cast a vote for the presidential candidate they think should be the Republican, Democrat or Libertarian party nominee. In order to participate in the presidential preference primary, voters must be registered by no later than this Wednesday, January 9, 2008.

“In order to vote in the upcoming February 5th Presidential Primary, Missourians need to be registered to vote by Wednesday, January 9th,” said Robin Carnahan, Secretary of State for Missouri. “Voters in Iowa turned out in record numbers last week to start the selection process for our Presidential nominees. I hope Missourians will do the same. Elections are about deciding who will best represent us in government, so it is up to each of us to do our part and get out to vote.”

Citizens who have recently moved to a new address or Missourians who will be18 years old by February 5th and have not yet registered to vote can request a voter registration card from the Missouri Secretary of State’s office or locally through a county clerk or election board office.
