Superintendent Clarence Holman of the Jennings School District has announced his retirement to the Board of Education, effective June 30, 2012.

Holman decided to make the announcement now to give the school board ample time to find a replacement and ensure a smooth leadership transition

In February 2008, Holman was named interim superintendent and was appointed to the role permanently in February 2009. Holman, 62, has more than 30 years of experience in education and has worked in the Jennings School District for 19 years.

He has a master’s degree from Truman State University in Kirksville and has an undergraduate degree from Southwest Baptist University. He is currently working on his doctorate degree at Lindenwood University.

The Board of Education will begin a search immediately and hope to have a replacement named by January 2012.
